Italian design firm Aznom has unveiled a striking concept vehicle, the L’Epoque, that reimagines the ultra-luxury limousine for a future where ostentatious displays of wealth and power are still in demand. The vehicle, a collaboration with Camal Studio, is over 26 feet long and blends 1930s Art Deco aesthetics with a cutting-edge hybrid powertrain.
A Design Statement: Larger Than Life
The L’Epoque is deliberately imposing. Its proportions are exaggerated, featuring an exceptionally long hood, a dramatically set-back cabin, and design cues borrowed from classic yachts. The front grille isn’t just a functional component; it’s an architectural element, towering over the road. Vertical LED headlights embedded in the fenders cast a warm glow, completing the theatrical presence.
The vehicle’s sheer length exceeds even that of a Cadillac Escalade, and its unconventional doors operate via a dual-motion mechanism with a section of the roof lifting for easier entry. A projected “carpet” of light illuminates the ground upon opening, adding to the over-the-top experience. The 30-inch wheels further emphasize its imposing scale.
Interior: A Mobile Lounge
Inside, the L’Epoque abandons traditional seating in favor of a lounge-like atmosphere. The rear compartment centers around a large sofa, complemented by two fold-away jump seats, creating a 2+2+2 configuration. The cabin is adorned with hand-worked wood inlays, premium leather, and textiles inspired by historic palaces, creating a lavish ambiance.
Technology is integrated discreetly, controlled by an AI system that manages microclimate, lighting, sound, and overall ambience via natural voice commands. This ensures a seamless, luxurious experience for its occupants.
Hybrid Powertrain: 1,000 Horsepower on Demand
The L’Epoque employs a body-on-frame chassis with active suspension and automatic leveling. The powertrain features a V6 engine used solely as a generator to feed a 100.0-kilowatt-hour battery, powering four electric motors—one for each wheel. This is a range-extender setup, delivering over 1,000 horsepower.
The concept remains theoretical but envisions the possibility of a one-off build or extremely limited production run for high-net-worth collectors.
