The 2026 Atlas SEL Premium R-Line

The 2026 VWAtlas gets a look-in. Most of the stuff that bugs people right now? We bet the next generation fixes it. For now, it’s got plenty going for it.

This test model runs on a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four. It puts out 269 horsepower, 273 pound-feet of torque. Numbers look decent. But listen.

That four-cylinder engine doesn’t sound like one. Synthesized audio tricks the ear into thinking it’s got more cylinders, adds some drama. A little fake flair.

The inside, though.

Kinda plain. Bland, even. That is the honest take.

Then again. It’s huge. Positively cavernous. Three rows of seats actually have space. More than enough room, really. Is comfort worth a bit of noise simulation and dull plastics?

Maybe. Until the real update hits anyway.
